Jonathan L Black, 32, of 207 Fourth Ave SW was found dead Wednesday morning of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The Linn County medical examiner ruled his death as suicide. Born July 27, 1952 In Cedar Rapids, he had been employed by Quaker Oats since 1975. He served four years in the US Air Force and was a member of the Iowa Mudrunners Association of Cedar Rapids and Marion Post 298 of the American Legion. Surviving are his parents, Leonard Black of Manchester and Leona Kruger of Cedar Rapids; 2 daughters, Alta and Terry, both of Cedar Rapids; 6 sisters, Colleen Hersh and Christine Kimball, both of Houston, Texas, Lynette Ellis and Gwen Bruner, both of Hiawatha, Kimberly Barnett of Marion and Donnetta Kruger of Cedar Rapids; 2 brothers, Blaine Black and David Kruger, both of Cedar Rapids; and his grandparents, George Wilcox of Minnesota and Eunice Gienapp of Central City. Services 1 pm Saturday at the Murdoch Funeral Home in Marion by the Rev Dick Watkins of the First United Methodist Church of Marion. Burial: Blodgett Cemetery, Central City.
