Glen I. Finch was born on Monday; May 18, 1914, near Keswick; Keokuk County, Iowa. He was the son of Henry and Neva (Williams) Finch. Glen attended Porter country school and Keswick High School. On Sunday; November 11, 1934 he married Dorothy May Bailey. The couple lived in Keswick and New Hampton before moving to the Bailey farm in 1949. They then moved to Sigourney; Keokuk County, Iowa in 1954 and Dorothy passed away in 1956. Glen then married Josephine Esther Kerber in October of 1957. She died in 1984. Glen worked as a truck driver, ran the Standard filling station in Sigourney, Iowa and owned and operated Glen Finch Heating and Cooling. He was a former member of the Sigourney United Methodist Church and enjoyed telling stories about his life experiences, fishing, camping, boating and living in Arizona. Glen I. Finch, age 94, of North English; Iowa County, Iowa and formerly of Sigourney, Iowa passed away on Sunday; June 1, 2008, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, following a brief illness. Those left to mourn his passing are: His five children: Stanley (Mary) Finch of Sigourney, Iowa. Steven (Barb) Finch of Leavenworth; Leavenworth County, Kansas. Sandra (Richard) Gilmore of North English, Iowa. Marcia (Rex) Jackson of Walcott and Joen (Gary) Bayliss of Keota, Iowa. His step daughter: Carole (Arland) Kerkove of La Crescenta; Los Angeles County, California. His twenty-one grandchildren; numerous great and great great grandchildren and his brother: Donald Finch of Moline, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; daughter: Darlene Funk; two step sons: Charles and Faye Vorhauer; two brothers: Chester and John Finch; two sisters: Ethel Glore and Opal Doolin and one great great granddaughter. May they rest in peace. Visitation will be from: 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 2, 2008, at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at: 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday; June 3, 2008, also at the funeral home with the Reverend Jerry Ulin officiating. Interment will be at the Bailey Cemetery in rural Keswick, Iowa. A memorial fund in Glen's name has been established for the Iowa City Hospice.
