Myron Stanley Chapel was born in Asthabula Co. Ohio, September 4, 1848 and passed away August 26, 1924 at the age of 75.
Mr. Chapel resided in Nebraska in 1869 where he taught in the public school. In 1870 he came to Mitchell Co. locating at Asherville in the mercantile business for 8 years with his cousin Mr. Garter. He was also postmaster.
On August 4, 1872, he married Ester E. Darrow of Asherville and 7 children were born: Cora M Richards, Arthur H., Myron S. Eunice M Merriman (all from Woodston); Stile E. and Don C. of Stoneman, Co. and Mabel Kuffler of Yuma, Co.
Leaving his mercantile business, Mr. Chapel moved to his farm in 1878 south of Asherville where he lived until 1901. He then moved to Rooks Co. and lived on a farm southwest of Wooston, KS.
Funeral services were held at the EUB Chruch of Wookston, conducted by Rev C. L. Wetherington and burial in the Woodston cemetery. (Paraphrased - Full Obit in Rooks County Record, Sept 14, 1924).
