Even though the tombstone shows a death date of October 15, 1881, the Sumner County Press newspaper carried a notice of her death in the October 28, 1880 issue, so there was evidently an error made on the inscription. Perhaps a tombstone wasn't erected for a couple of years after her death. She died of typhoid malarial fever.
