Mikel Berkenmeier, 33, died on Dec. 19, 2008, from injuries suffered in a car accident, in Chanute, Kansas.
Mikel was born March 17, 1975, to Kenneth and Andrea (Beckwith) Berkenmeier in Independence, Kansas.
He was raised in Cherryvale, Kansas, and attended school there.
In 2006, Mikel met his wife, Sarah (Ware) Berkenmeier.
Later they chose to make their home in Humboldt, Kansas, and begin a family.
On Nov. 5, 2007, they gratefully welcomed angelic identical twin daughters, Brooke Ann and Bailee Rae Berkenmeier, who were no doubt the light of their dad's life. Anyone who knew Mikel could tell how his world revolved around his three girls; and theirs around him.
Mikel was an adoring son with a deep, enduring friendship he shared with his loving parents.
He was a loving man who believed in living life to the fullest. He had a generous nature that radiated love and happiness into the lives of his family and friends. His smiling face could light up a room and his laughter was infectious.
We will never stop loving you or forget you, Mikel! Your warmth and spirit will live on through our beautiful girls.
