M. Louise Peckham Brooks, Fresno, Calif., died Sept. 19 at the San Joaquine (sic) Gardens health care unit. Services were Saturday at Rosemound Cemetery with the Rev. Dale Bussinger officiating.
Brooks, the second daughter of Roy and Minnie Peckham, was born June 25, 1908. She graduated from Hardy High School with the Class of 1925. She later graduated from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, before teaching in the Nebraska public schools.
She was united in marriage to Vernon Brooks, July 26, 1936, at the Republic County home of her parents. They served the American Baptist Church for 52 years in Nebraska, South Dakota, Los Angeles, Calif., Grand Coulee, Wash., Riverside, Calif., and Oklahoma. As missionaries to American Indians they worked in Washington, California and Oklahoma before retiring in 1980 to live in Fresno, Calif.
Survivors include a son, James, San Jose, Calif.; a daughter, Anna Hoover, Honolulu, Hawaii; a sister, Charlotte Walters, Hardy; and four grandchildren.
Williams Funeral Home was in charge of the interment.
