Retired from farming at the age of 83. Preceded in death by his mother, Alice Tharp and brother, Jerry Tharp. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, Mason with a 32nd degree for 65 years. Cecil served in the Army from 8-27-42 to 10-45 as a PFC in infantry, receiving Purple Heart, Bronze Star, President Unit Emblem and many more.
