William, with his family moved to Webbers Falls, Indian Territory in the fall of 1898 from Crawford Co., Arkansas. William was sick at the time of the move and he died two weeks later. The farm the family was moving to is believed to be in the Brewer Bend area.

William's daughter, Nancy Jane had married John Alexander Sevier who was killed in June 1898 and was buried in the Sevier Cemetery, so it is believed the family buried William in this cemetery. Another reason for this assumption is when his wife, Mary, died in 1915 her official death certificate states "Place of Burial" to be the Sevier Cemetery.

The Sevier Family Cemetery was moved when the Arkansas River Dam was built.
