Funeral services for Ronald Leroy Adams, 72, Parsons, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will follow in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons.
Mr. Adams died Thursday, June 12, 2008, at his home.
He was born July 6, 1935, in Altamont, the son of William Ernest and Lina Mae Wiles Adams. He grew up in the Parsons area and graduated from Labette County Community High School in Altamont in 1952.
Mr. Adams worked in the dairy business for 42 years and worked with Swift's for two years, Meadow Gold for more than 23 years and Steffens/Hiland Dairy for 17 years. He also worked part-time for Marshall Hastings for many years. He assisted his wife in operating East Links Miniature Golf Course and Batting Cages east of Parsons in his retirement.
He was a lifelong member of First Assembly of God Church and served on the planning committee to celebrate the church's 75th anniversary. He also served as Sunday school secretary for more than 40 years. He was an active member of the local American Association of Retired Persons Chapter 2313.
Mr. Adams married Marjorie Louise Murray on July 17, 1955, in Parsons. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Margie Hentzen, Owasso, Okla., and Pam Blackburn, rural Parsons; three brothers, Bob, Apopka, Fla., Leonard "Butch," Lawrence, and Gordon, Parsons; and six sisters, Joanne Keith, Texarkana, Texas, Mary Louise Feuerborn, Altamont, Ernestine Gutierrez, Springfield, Mo., Teresa Ward, Parsons, Susie Spriggs, Lawrence, and Ronita Spriggs, Parsons, one grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
