Born: February 6,1892, Powhattan, Brown County, Kansas.

Parents: William R. and Sarah Ann (Ranshaw) Bartley.

Siblings: Elmer (1888-1978) and James Earl (1890-1981) Bartley, both also born in Powhattan, Brown County, Kansas.

Childhood: "In June 1901, the family moved by covered wagon to Decatur County, Kansas, where they lived in a sod house west of Jennings. In 1904 they moved to a frame house southwest of Jennings."

Later: After her father died in 1940, Minta and her mother moved into Jennings. Her mother died in 1959. In 1961, Minta moved into the Good Samaritan Center in Oberlin.

More about Minta: She played the piano at the Jennings United Methodist Church, of which she was a member, and for chapel services at the Good Samaritan Center.

Died: October 10, 1976, Decatur County Hospital, Oberlin, Kansas.

Funeral/Burial: Rev. Alvin Smith officiated at funeral services in the Jennings church on October 13, 1976, with burial following in the Jennings Cemetery.
