Odes Franklin Brown, the son of Stephen D. and Maggie Matheny Brown, was born Dec. 15, 1893, at Hubbell, Neb. He died Saturday, March 11, at the home of his son, Robert, in Bokeelia, Fla., at the age of 95 years, 3 months and 4 days.

He grew up in the Hubbell area, attending school there. To further his education he attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, working in the engineering field when he answered a call to duty serving with the United States Army. He enlisted June 14, 1918.

Upon his discharge from the service he was united in marriage to Alice Gooden March 1, 1919, at Hubbell. To this union, one son, Robert, was born. Mr. and Mrs. Brown moved to Superior to make their home where they owned and operated Consumers Packing Company for many years until their retirement.

Brown was an active member of the Superior community, being a life-time members of the Superior American Legion, St. Mihiel Post, No. 103, and the Superior Country Club, a member of the Superior Masonic Lodge, No. 121, A.F. and A.M., the Hastings Tehama Shrine, the Superior Elks Lodge, No. 2197, the Order of Eastern Star and the First United Methodist Church of Superior. Besides these organizations, he was a lover of music. At one time he had been active in organizing youth bands in both Ruskin and Hubbell.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; son, Robert, Bokeelia, Fla.; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and many other relatives.

Memorial services were Monday, March 27, at 1:30 a.m., at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jerry Heydenberk was the officiant. Interment was in Hubbell Cemetery, Hubbell, Neb.
