In 1920, when Freda was in the 8th grade, the family moved to the City of Endicott in order than Viola could attend high school.

Soon she met the love of her life, a farmer and craftsman named Emil George Anderson. They were married October 3, 1938 and they worked a farm North of Haddam until they sold out in 1960 and moved into Haddam. Emil continued to work as a carpenter until he passed away October 11, 1985.

After her husband died, Freda moved to the Haddam Senior Center for three years and then to Colonial Acres in Washington where her younger brother Fred and his wife, Edna, joined her there. After her 100th birthday, Freda moved to the Homestead in Washington where she remained till she passed away.

This is her testimony that she wrote 17 years ago "Most of all I loved my Lord life is a wonderful gift but so is resting in peace."

A memorial fund has been established to the United Methodist Church, 408 Swan, Haddam, KS 66944. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.
