Mary Alice Austin, 76 Nevada, Mo., died Wednesday, August 2, 1995 at the Moore-Few Nursing Home in Nevada, Misssouri.
Born January 14, 1919 in Arcadia, Kansas she ws the daughter of Andrew Jackson and Bessie Toy Dee Humphrey.
She married Harold E Austin on December 14, 1934 in Rich Hill, Missouri. He Died on May 29, 1967.
Also prededing her in death were her parents and one brother, Edward Humphrey and two sisters Maudie Roberts and Christina Louise Humphrey, who died in infancy.
Mrs Austin and her husband owned and operated Austin Sewing Center in Fort Scott, Kansas and later in Nevada, Missouri. Following her husband's death she continued to operate the sewing center for an additional 10 years. She was a member of the South Methodist Church of Hume. She was a former member of the Nevada Business and Professional Women's Club.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Crossland, Paola Kansas, Allanette Reddick, Little Rock, Arkansas and Jayne Kay Austin, Nevada, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren
Graveside services will be Saturday, 11 a m at Fairview Cemetery near Fulton, Kansas. Friends and family will meet at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral 15 W. Wall, Fort Scott, Kansas at 10 a m and leave for the cemetery at 10:40 a m.
