Edward's father and family came west in 1867 and settled in Marshall Co., KS., where he grew to manhood and has spent his life. He was a farmer.
He was united in marriage to Miss Emilie Hohn on Feb 13, 1879, and to this union was born six children, four of whom survive. He was preceded in death by daughters Josephine and Mabel.
In 1904 the family moved to a smaller farm near Blue Rapids, KS., because of Edward's ailing health.
Edward is survived by his wife Amelia and four daughters; Nellie, Emma Estella, Florence and Ethlyn. He is also survived by four sisters.
