Edward John, one of eight children born to John and Louise Isaacson, was born near Randolph KS. As a young man he took up farming and after some years spent in that vocation he decided to become a carpenter. In 1904 he came to Waterville and worked with the late Wm. E. Fitzgerald for a few years while learning the trade. He then continued the trade on his own building many fine homes in Waterville and the surrounding area.
On September 19, 1906 he was married to Nellie Choate, of Blue Rapids, KS. Some years later a little girl, Marlene, came through adoption to brighten their home.
In 1921 he moved with his family to Topeka, KS., where he continued to work at the carpenter trade for about 20 years.
After the death of his wife in 1945, he went to Larned, KS., where he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. H. M. Felsted and family.
He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter and husband, Marlene and Howard Felsted and two grandchildren; Carolyn and Dianne. Also surviving is one sister, Mrs Hilda Johnson.
