"Miss Della Alexander was born in Fremont, Mahaska County, Iowa, March 10th, 1878 and died at her home in Belleville, Kansas, August 17, 1907, aged 29 years 5 months and seven days. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Holter at the M.E. church Monday afternoon and the remains interred in the Belleville Cemetery. Many handsome floral offerings were laid on the casket and a long concourse of sorrowing friends and relatives accompanied the loved one to her earthly resting place.
For a number of years Miss Della had been a sufferer from tuberculosis, gradually growing weaker until the Heavenly Father summoned her home. At the age of sixteen she was converted and joined the M.E church, living a consistent, faithful Christian life and died in the full confession of her faith. During her constant suffering she bore her sickness bravely and patiently which was characteristic of the sweet and gracious disposition of the girl. Always more thoughtful of others than of herself, she was loved by all who knew her, and her death removes one of Belleville's finest young ladies from our midst. Besides her mother she leaves one sister, Mrs. George Harkness and two brothers, Arthur and Frank all of this city, to whom is extended the sincere sympathy of their numerous friends in the time of bereavement."
