Bolton, MA

Joseph C. Androski Jr. of Bolton, MA, left our world peacefully on Feb. 8th, 2010 in the comfort of his home and in the presence of his family. He was 67 years old.

The Androskis were part of the small group of families who founded the Lord's Acre Corn Festival in 1947 to raise funds for the establishment of Bolton's first Catholic parish, St. Francis Xavier. Since then, four generations of the family have lived in town.

Upon graduating from Hudson High, Joe worked his way across the US and back-picking raspberries with migrant workers in Washington and as a busboy in Yellowstone National Park. Later, he was employed by Bolton-based EJ Alex Construction-doing everything from installing arresting cables on military runways throughout the country, to renovating the Maynard Mill buildings for a small start-up called Digital.

In the 1970's he founded Androski Construction. Many of the homes and businesses in the area have his hand in them-and many of his closest friends were also his coworkers. He was as fiercely dedicated to his work, as he was creative in carrying it out. He loved solving problems and took pride in doing things right.

Joe was an undeniable part of the fabric of his town. He simply did what was needed-preparing the ball fields at Memorial Park before his daughter's games, or jumping to a neighbor's assistance. He looked after his town and his neighbors, the way he looked after his family and friends-with care and with pride.

Joe was the husband of the late Bonnie (Fletcher) Androski and the brother of the late Peter D. Androski. He leaves behind his brother Jack, daughter Jane and son-in-law Dan, nephew Jonathan, and niece Torrey.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Care Alternatives Hospice, 181 Cedar Hill Road, Marlborough, MA 01752 (www.carealt.com). We will be forever grateful for their compassion and support.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 am on Saturday, February 20th, at Holy Trinity-St. Francis Xavier Church, 808 Main Street, Bolton, MA. A memorial gathering will follow at Davis Hall-First Parish Church, 673 Main Street, Bolton. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of: Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749
