Alice Marie (McDevitt) Ahern of Plymouth, formerly of Braintree, died Jan. 23 in Middleboro. Beloved wife of the late Richard Patrick Ahern. Loving mother of Richard P. Jr. of Abington, James F. and his wife Cheryl of Plymouth, Roberta C. Shaw and her husband Walter of Plymouth and Jeanne M. Loukas and her husband Gus of New Jersey. Sister of Barbara Kenney. Grandmother of six and great- grandmother of two. Born in Boston Aug. 27, 1931, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James McDevitt. A graduate of Roslindale High School, she had worked as a Secretary for Instron Co. in Canton. She was a member of the Ladies sodality and taught CCD at St. Clairs in Braintree. Funeral from the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth on Friday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in the Church of the Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha, 126 So. Meadow Rd., West Plymouth at 10:00 a.m. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. only. Burial in St. Josephs Cemetery in West Roxbury.
