Williiam Ambrose, 53, Beverly firefighter, of 466 Newbury St, husband of Mary Jeanne(Arsenault)Ambrose, died suddenly Friday afternoon at Hunt Hospital after being stricken at home.
Born in Lynn, son of William E.and Mary K.(Marran)Ambrose, he lived in Beverly most of his life and in Danvers the past 12 years.
A Beverly Firefighter for 28 years, stationed at Engine 6 in Ryal Side, he was a member of Local 1669 Firefighter's Union, the Wenham Rod & Gun Club, and was associated with N.F.Enterprises of Peabody for the past 15 years.
Surviving him besides his parents and wife, are two sonsMichael J. Ambrose of Beverly and Mark l. Ambrose of Arlington,TX; three stepsons, ManuelJ, Freitas,Jr. of Danvers; Bruce N. Freitas, and James M. Freitas, both of Peabody; a daughter, Mary "Betsey"Alexander of Decatur,Ill.; two step-daughters, Barbara J. Brosnan of Peabody and Julie A. Freitas of Danvers; two brothers, John Ambrose of Danvers and Paul Ambrose of Beverly; one sister, Judy Lawton of Haverhill; nine grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral Tuesday morning from Campbell Funeral home followed by a funeral mass at St Mary Star of the Sea Church, Beverly. Burial North Beverly Cemetery. ( Beverly Times, Mon.May 21, 1984 )
