Kenneth F. Adie Sr., 79, of Rockland died on Sept. 20, 2010 at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center after a period of failing health. He was born in Boston and had been a longtime Rockland resident. Mr. Adie was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Ken retired in1990 after a lengthy career as a printer at Union Book Binding Co. He and his wife served as foster parents to over 200 children between the years 1968 and 2006. He enjoyed woodworking as well as working on his miniature train set. He is survived by his wife Rita (York) Adie and his children, Kenneth F. Adie, Jr. Richard J. Adie and Mark C. Adie, all of Rockland, David M. Adie of Hanson, Linda J. Ricciarelli of Hanover and Sally A. Adie of Whitman. He was the brother of Lorraine Geanacopoulos of Dorchester, and Donald Buckley of NJ. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Stephanie Adie of Stoughton, Joshua Pearl of Canton, and Nicholas and Julia Ricciarelli, both of Hanover as well as a great-granddaughter, Liana Guerrero and several nieces and nephews. The Addie family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate Kens life at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. ROCKLAND on Friday, Sept. 24, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. in Holy Family Church. After cremation burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association , 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA.
