WEST SPRINGFIELD - Elizabeth (Ferris) Alonzo, 101, of West Springfield, died peacefully at home on June 7, 2007 after a short illness. She was the Queen Mother to her brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews, always loving, guiding, helping and giving of herself unselfishly. Elizabeth was born on September 25, 1905 in Springfield to the late Michael and Carrie (Kallil) Ferris. Elizabeth and her husband, Paul, owned the Kute Kiddie Teen Town for thirty two years, a successful children's retail clothing store in Westfield. They stylishly dressed many children and teens in the greater Westfield area and their specialty shop was an Elm St. landmark in Westfield. Elizabeth attended and graduated from Chicopee High School and Baypath Business School. She lived a full life traveling extensively and enjoying her retirement in Florida for six months every year. Elizabeth loved to dance and enjoyed dancing until the end of her life. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Alonzo; her brothers and sisters, Mary Fournier, Theda Ferris, Paul Ferris, Dr. Basil Ferris, Francis Ferris and Dr. Emil Ferris and Carl Ferris. She is survived by her special sister, Madeline Matheny of Manchester, CT, thirteen nieces and nephews, nineteen grand nieces and nephews and six great nieces and nephews. Our family is very grateful to Elizabeth's caregivers, Evelyn Hamlin, Bonnie Desoutels and Carolyn Suprenant for their loving care and devotion. We sincerely thank them. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 15, 2007 at 11 am at the Fairview Cemetery in Chicopee . It will be followed by a Mercy Luncheon.
