Bahea Akeke BROCKTON Bahea Betty Akeke, 86, a lifelong Brockton resident, passed away Monday, April 6, 2009, at her home in Brockton, after a period of failing health. Born Jan. 13, 1923, in Brockton, she was a daughter of the late Louis G. Akeke and Josephine H. (Akeke) Akeke. Raised in Brockton, she attended Brockton schools and graduated from Brockton High School in 1941. Betty was a retired seamstress. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, sewing, baking and going to Cape Cod. She was a communicant of St. Theresa Maronite Catholic Church in Brockton. She was a member of UNITE, International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She is survived by her sisters and brother, Anna Kay, Sarah Akeke, Mary Akeke, George Akeke, all of Brockton, and the late Albert Akeke; her nieces, Theresa (Akeke) OBrien and her husband Timothy of Brockton and Laura Akeke of Norwood; her sister-in-law, Rose Akeke of Norwood; her great-niece, Megan OBrien; her great-nephew, Matthew OBrien. Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Thursday, at 9 a.m., followed by services of the divine liturgy in St. Theresa Maronite Catholic Church, 343 North Main St., Brockton, at 10 a.m. The. Rev. Tony Akoury will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
