DIXMONT -- Harrison C. Batt, 94, died Monday June 7, 2004, at his Dixmont residence following a long illness.

He was born in Dixmont on July 2, 1909, the son of Joseph S. and Carrie Ella (Allen) Batt. Harrison was educated in Dixmont schools and attended Plymouth High School. He was married to Marion E. Doten Batt, who died July 11, 1985.
During World War II he was a welder at the South Portland Ship Yards. Harrison was a poultry farmer for many years in Dixmont and also a carpenter and builder.

He liked working with steel and always had a project going. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was a storyteller and anytime you met Harrison he would have a story for you.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 10, at Riverside Cemetery in Newport.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Brown Funeral Home, Newport.
