BENTON--Nellie A. Alexander, 91, of Benton was reunited with her beloved husband, Lawrence when she passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 4, 2011. She was born in Benton on Dec. 27, 1919, the daughter of the late Ralph W. and Sadie M. (Spencer) Crosby.
Shortly following her graduation from Lawrence High School in Fairfield, Nellie married Lawrence E. Alexander. The couple started their family and operated a dairy farm in Albion, until Lawrence passed away in 1970. Nellie was active in the Benton Falls Congregational Church.
Beside her parents and her husband, Nellie is predeceased by her brother, Delbert Crosby; and her sisters, Leah Maxwell and Jean Crosby.

Nellie will be sadly missed by her daughters, Marie Bonsaint of Berwick; Norma Ross and her husband, Brian of Delaware; Joanne Davis and her partner, Janie Weber of Benton; Carol Martin and her husband, Gary of Benton; and Susan McKeen and her fiancŽ, Ned Duplessie of North Vassalboro; her sisters, Louise Charity of Benton and Linda Crosby of Waterville; her grandchildren, Michael O'Rourke and his wife, Linda of California; Kelly Chase and her husband, Butch of New Hampshire; Garrett Bonsaint and his wife, Kourtney of New Hampshire; Michelle Eckart and her husband, Michael of Pennsylvania; Julie West and her husband, Josh of Maryland; Jerrod McKeen and his wife, Stefanie of North Vassalboro; and Megan Akoa and her husband, Marty of New York; her great-grandchildren, Donald, Alexander, and Hannah O'Rourke, Colby, Brianna, Madison, and Jack Chase, Brogan, Emma, and Kassidy Bonsaint, Caleb Eckart, Aaron and Jillian Pion, Declan McKeen and Antoine and Bianca Akoa; sisters-in-law, Helen Alexander of Unity, and Alice Alexander and Florence Alexander both of Benton; as well as many nieces and nephews.
