Mrs Bertha Aschbrenner, nee Kluender, 87, died at 11:45 o'clock las night at her home in Stratford following an illness of three and a half weeks with pneumonia and the infirmities of old age. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 10 at 1:30 o'clock from Zion Lutheran Church of Stratford, with the Rev T E Diemer officiating. Internment will follow in the parish cemetery.
The deceased was born October 12, 1848 in Putzluf, Germany, and came to American with her parents in 1868. She was married March 3, 1871, in the town of Berlin, to Frederick Aschbrenner, who died last December 29. They lived thirty-one years in the town of Berlin, where she helped develop a farm and where she was active in Trinity Lutheran church, located on highway A. In 1902, the family moved to Stratford, where they developed another farm and which since 1910 has been in the possession of ther son, Henry, who oerected a home for them on highway 97, where the parents lived until there death. Until the last few years she was an active member of Zion Lutheran church.
Surviving are the nine children, Mrs Emelie Raduechel of Kenosha, Frederick Aschbrenner of the town of Berlin, Mrs Herman Radant of the town of Stetin, Otto Aschbrenner of the town of Maine, Edward Aschbrenner of Wausau, Henry and Samuel Aschbrenner of Stratford, Frank Aschbrenner of the town of Hamburg and Mrs Fred Poeske of the town of Wien; twenty-seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two half-brothers, Carl and Ferdinand Salzsieder of this city.
