Chester M. Amundson, 60, Barron, died Saturday, July 28, 1979, at Luther hospital at Eau Claire. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, July 31, 1979, from the First Lutheran church at Barron, with Rev. Wayne Shelksohn officiating and burial following at Wayside cemetery.
Mr. Amundson was born Feb. 28, 1919, at Edgerton and lived there until 1960. On March 23, 1945, he married Leona Johnson. They came to Barron in 1960, and he was employed by Alcott Construction for 12 years and then he was self-employed in curb and gutter construction.
He served in World War II as a member of the Fifth Fighter Commandos. He was a member of the Barron VFW Post 8338.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Margaret Amundson of Fox Lake; two sons, Roland of Barron and Paul of Whitewater; two granddaughters; and one sister, June Wescott of Edgerton.
