Gladys Thora ALEXANDER, 92, of Barron, Wisconsin died Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Barron Care & Rehab. She was born November 22, 1917 in the Town of Sioux Creek, Barron County, Wisconsin the daughter of Gustave and Gena (Knutson) Dalen. Gladys graduated from Barron High School. She married Charles Phillip Alexander on March 29, 1939 at Barron. Following their marriage they lived for a short time west of Hillsdale before buying a farm near Chetek. In 1945 they bought a farm in the Town of Clinton, Barron County, where they resided until moving to Barron in July of 2001. Gladys enjoyed cooking and baking. She was a 4-H leader for many years, a charter member of the Paul Revere Homemakers, a member of Northwood Camping Club, and a longtime member of First Lutheran Church in Barron.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant son, 1 sister & 1 brother.

A service of thanksgiving for the life of Gladys Thora Alexander will be held Monday, June 7, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at First Lutheran Church in Barron with Rev. Lowell Bolstad officiating. Burial will be in the Wayside Cemetery in Barron. Visitation will be held at First Lutheran Church in Barron on Monday one hour prior to the service. Rausch & Steel Funeral Home in Barron handled the arrangements.
