Marion R. Agen, age 85, Barron, died Thursday, April 6, 2000 at her home. She was born June 24, 1914 in Green County, to Henry and Susanna (Zimmerman) Elmer.
Marion grew up and graduated from High School in Monticello. She then attended and graduated from Whitewater State Teachers College in 1933. On April 3, 1934 she married Melvin Agen in Green County. They farmed in Green County until January of 1944, when they moved to rural Barron and farmed there until retiring in 1972. They then moved into the City of Barron and had lived there since. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Barron.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin Agen of Barron; sons, Nelson (Julie) Agen of Seymour and Melvin (Tricia) Agen of Hastings, Minnesota; daughters, Marge (Harold) Lindemann of Cumberland and Nancy Whitmore of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one sister.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 10, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Barron, Rev. Jeff Schlesinger officiating. Burial was in the Wayside Cemetery in Barron.
Arrangements were handled by the Rausch-Rockman Funeral Service in Barron.
