DARLINGTON - Mary Jane Boyle, age 83, of Darlington, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at the Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County, Darlington. She was born on Aug. 22, 1922, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Joseph and Clara (Struteman) Hoyle. She married Clarence P. Boyle on Sept. 25, 1944, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Clarence preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 1977.

She attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and graduated from Jefferson Senior High School in Dubuque, Iowa. She farmed with her husband in the Darlington area until 1965. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, it's Council of Catholic Women, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, the Happy Homemakers, and the Darlington Senior Citizens. She was previously a daycare provider in Darlington. She moved to Monroe in 1998.

Survivors include her children, James (Betty) Boyle of Darlington, Patricia Ward of Hazel Green, Darlene Boyle of Wauwatosa, Nancy Gollmer of Darlington, John (Mary Kay) Boyle of Blanchardville, and Jane (Kevin) Hinderman of Pulaski; 17 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Hoyle; and a sister, Mildred Woelk; as well as a son-in-law, Kenneth Ward.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2006, at HOLY ROSARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 104 E. Harriet St., Darlington, with Father Randy Budnar officiating. Burial will be at St. Matthews Catholic Cemetery, Shullsburg.
