Louise Kelm Bade

Her Lord reached down and picked her up. Louise Strohmeyer Kelm Bade joined her Lord on Thursday, October 26, 1995, where she will wait for other family members. She passed away at Heritage Nursing Home Center after a lengthy illness.

Louise was born January 16, 1913 in Sheboygan Falls. Her parents were Ferdinand and Marie (Kendel) Strohmeyer. She attended Sheboygan Falls Elementary and High School.

On May 15, 1937, she married Edward Kelm in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on April 11, 1967.

In 1949, as a women entrepreneur, she opened the Point Drive-In Restaurant in Sheboygan Falls and operated it for ten years. In 1961, she became co-owner of the National Inn in Crystal Lake. After this, for ten years, she operated the Food Service Department of the Sheboygan Elks Lodge.

On October 26, 1973, Louise married Warren Bade in Houston, Texas and resided there until 1990, when they moved back to Sheboygan, residing at 408 Vollrath Blvd.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Hermine Annen; two brothers, Joseph and Ferdinand Jr. She is survived by her husband, Warren; one brother, John Strohmeyer, Sheboygan; one daughter, Judy (Delano) Dohr, Sheboygan; one son, James (Judy) Kelm, Sheboygan Falls; three step-daughters, Pamela (David) Beers, Charlotte, N.C.; Gail (Ron) Howell, Houston, Texas; Cheryl (Greg) Folkes, Friendswood, Texas; five granddaughters, Mitzi (Ken) Grant, Jackie Kunstman, Kimberly (Steve) Beeck, Lisa (Richard) Schueffner, Kristen (James) Aldag; seven step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Louise has been a life-long member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. During this time, she participated in various community and church organizations. Her life revolved around her family members and she was very proud of all their accomplishments.

A funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, October 28, 1995, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sheboygan Falls, with the Rev. Michael Moran, pastor, as celebrant. Family services will precede at the Huehns Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, October 27, 1995 from 5-8 p.m.

A memorial fund has been established in her name for St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sheboygan Falls.
