Mario Aceto Sr., at the age of 73, passed away on August 9, due to short term suffering of complications from pancreatic cancer. Mario was born to Eugene & Nancy (Sarlatto) Aceto on May 3, 1937. He was educated in Kenosha elementary schools and graduated from Mary D. Bradford in 1955. Mario married Rosalie A. Aiello of Kenosha on April 20, 1968. They were blessed with a son, Mario Aceto Jr. He was employed at Chester Electronics for 12 years; in that period he became their manager at the Waukegan, Ill store. He received his Telephone license in 1969 and was hired by Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS)in Chicago, IL. Working as a Radio Technician at WBBM radio, Mario had an opportunity to meet interesting and famous people during his 30 years of employment there. He retired in 1998 with plenty of good memories. Mario's love for animals was instilled in him by his father, Eugene. Mario and his wife Rosalie purchased a 5 acre lot in Bristol, WI. They raised sheep, goats, chickens, and rabbits. His love for food got him interested in growing his own vegetables which he gave to friends and to those in need. This is what Mario called his "Happy Therapy." Mario's love for conversation is why he became a Ham radio operator at the age of 12. His call letters were k9JBF. He always got a kick by saying that the letters stood for Jolly, Big, and Fat. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and a half-brother, James Aceto. He is survived by his wife, Rosalie, a son, Mario Jr., a nephew, James Michael Aceto, and a granddaughter, Madison Grace. visitation will be held Thursday August 12, 2010 from 10-12:00 noon at Kenosha Funeral Services, with funeral services to follow at 12:00 noon.
