Donald "DJ" Anderson, 79, died Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center, Superior. He was born on July 27, 1931, to Julius and Belvia (Ardell) Anderson. He was born and raised in Superior and was the oldest of 4 children. He served his country in the US Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.

His work career included the Steel Mill, the Midland Co-op, Twin Ports Grocery and Fleming Foods where he retired after many years of service. Donald met and married the love of his life, Geralding Dyleski and together they celebrated 51 years of marriage.

He was a member of St Francis Xavier Catholic Church and a former member of the Moose Lodge. Donald coached little league baseball when his boys were young. He loved fishing, playing cribbage, watching sports and spending time with his grandkids. He was an avid Brewers and Packers fan.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Avis Bonkosky.

Donald is survived by his wife, Gerri; daughters, Cheryl Wasko and Amy (Dean) Michelizzi, both of Superior; sons, Steve (LeAnn Drain), Superior and Tim (Missy) of Hudson, WI; two grandchildren, Nathan Birkholz and Emily Wasko; two sisters, Louise (Rudy) LaJoie and Joyce (Dennis) Perry; brother-in-law, Gene Bonkosky; and many nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in St Francis Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Duluth Combined Honor Guard.
