Godfrey Aegerter, 68, of 1066 N. Ringold St., died this morning in Mercy Hospital where he had been admitted earlier after suffering a heart attack.
Born Feb. 9, 1897, in Bern, Switzerland, he came to this country when he was 17 and settled in Janesville. He was married on Feb. 15, 1917, to Evelyn B. Kettle.
He was a member od St. John Lutheran Church, and a former member of Lodge No. 55, Masonic Order.
He was employed at the Chevrolet Motor Company for 38 years, retiring from the maintenance department four years ago.
He is survived by his wife, a son, Ralph, Edgerton; a daughter, Mrs. Willard Buehl, Janesville; five grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a brother, Fred Jafferson; a sister, Mrs. Rose Klossner, Janesville. Two brothers and two sisters in Switzerland also survive him.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in St. John Lutheran Church the Rev. L. Donald Docken officiating, with burial in Oakhill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Overton Funeral Home and after noon Tuesday at the church.
