OBITUARY Iron River Reporter Oct 7 1987 “Obituaries: Leo J. Gurchinoff
IRON RIVER—Leo James Gurchinoff, 23, died Oct. 3 at his home.
He was born June 7, 1964, in Stambaugh, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Gurchinoff, and was a lifelong resident of Iron River. He attended the Iron River schools and graduated from West Iron County High School in 1983. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Iron River.
He is survived by his parents and four sisters, Cindy Gurchinoff of Iron River, Linda VanNess of Oshkosh, Wis., Joan Hinch of Ontonagon and Carol Gurchinoff of Sacramento, Calif. He was preceded in death by a brother, John, on Nov. 22, 1975.
There was no visitation.
Private funeral services were held Oct. 5 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, with the Rev. Aloysius Hasenberg, pastor, officiating.
Pallbearers were Dan Germic, Randy VanNess, Dan Hinch and Tom, Jim and Don Gurchinoff. Soloist Richard Briggs was accompanied by Luella Ambach at the organ.
Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery in Alvin, Wis.
Duvall-Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River was in charge of arrangements.
