James M. Karpinski, 50, of Hawkins died Nov. 1 at Medford of complications after surgery. Funerals services were Monday morning at Nash-Jackan Funeral Home in Ladysmith, with the Rev. Linda Shearer officiating and burial at Hillcrest Cemetery in Hawkins.
Mr. Karpinski was born May 22, 1956 in Chicago to Stanley and Anna Karpinski. He married his wife, Beverly, at Hawkins on Feb. 13, 1993. Mr. Karpinski worked in various positions at Jeld-Wen for 23 years and during his life was involved in the Lions Club, the ATV club and the Hawkins Development Committee. He enjoyed putting up Halloween and Christmas decorations for children to enjoy.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; two sons, Joseph of Phillips and Jason of Kuwait; a stepson, James Stamper of Hawkins; a stepdaughter, Stacy Anderson of Glen Flora; a granddaughter; a brother, Stanley of Phillips; and five sisters, Patricia Crepinsek of Phillips, Karen McGhee of Berwyn, Ill., Barb Parse of Itasca, Ill., Sue Salerno of Westchester, Ill., and Gigi Toutant of Kewanee, Ill.
