Louis R. Brost, 78, of Grant, Wisconsin Rapids, WI, passed away Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at his home.
Louis was born June 5, 1931, in Malone, WI, to Harold and Victoria (Wojaciechowski) Brost, he married Doreen Coerper on Oct. 5, 1957, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nekoosa, WI. Louis served in the U.S. Navy from 1950-54 during the Korean War. He was an electrician at Consolidated Papers of Wisconsin Rapids for 32 years, retiring in August 1993. He and Doreen wintered in Florida over the past 17 years.
He is survived by his wife, Doreen of Wisconsin Rapids; 2 sons, Christopher Brost (Kristine Kmiec) of Necedah and Vance (Sherry) Brost of Wisconsin Rapids; 4 daughters, Vicki (Gary) Jaminski, Rosanne Chamberlain (Mitch McCrossen), Carmen (Tate) Lucas and Tina (Michael) Rice, all of Wisconsin Rapids; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Gene (Tina) Brost of Orange, CA, Norbert (Margret) Brost of Minoqua and Jay (Barb) Brost of Fontana; and 1 sister, Helen Brost of Nekoosa.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nekoosa. The Rev. John Swing will officiate. Friends may call the church on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home of Nekoosa, WI, is assisting the family.
