Birth: Aug. 31, 1982
Death: Nov. 19, 2008

First Lt. Jesse A. Alne, USAF, 26, of Little Rock Air Force Base in Little Rock, Ark., died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, as the result of a motorcycle accident in Little Rock.
He was born Aug. 31, 1982, in Kansas City, Mo., to Jody (Hopperstad) and Scott Alne. They lived in Joice, Iowa, until moving to Chippewa Falls when Jesse was in the third grade. He graduated from Chippewa Falls Senior High School in 2001. Jesse joined the U.S. Air Force and spent one year on active duty as a crew chief on a B-2 bomber at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri. He was then nominated to go to the Air Force Academy, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in materials engineering in 2006. Following graduation from the academy, he went on to flight school, receiving his pilot's wings in June 2008.
He will be dearly missed by his parents, Scott and Jody Alne of Elk Mound; a sister, Krystine Alne of Eau Claire; maternal grandparents, Jan and Jerry Hopperstad of Northwood, Iowa; paternal grandmother, Jean Alne of Kensett, Iowa; five uncles, Rod (Carol) Alne of Butte, Mont., Larry (Helen) Alne of Forest City, Iowa, Rick (Cindy) Alne of Bothell, Wash., Marty (Sandy) Alne of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Jay (Robin) Hopperstad of Northwood, Iowa; close dear friend, 1st Lt. Sarah Tasker, USAF, of Fairbanks, Alaska; and many other relatives and friends.
Jesse was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Roger Alne.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls, with the Rev. Paul Oppedahl officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard from the Grand Forks Air Force Base in Grand Forks, N.D.
Visitation hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls, where the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council will pay their respects at 4 p.m. Friends also may call one hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
Memorials in Jesse's honor may be made to the organization of the donor's choice.
Jesse enjoyed skiing, mountain biking, rocketry, growing giant pumpkins and making Christmas wreaths. Jesse grew as a person being involved in his church at Our Saviour's Lutheran, 4-H, Habitat for Humanity and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. After Jesse's graduation from the Air Force Academy, he fulfilled his one dream of traveling around the world and bringing us along with his ongoing photo portfolio. Jesse's joy in life was spending time with friends and family. His life was a gift to us all.
Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls is serving the family.
