Carl L Abrams, City Teacher, Dies Suddenly

Carl L Abrams, age 61, Chippewa Falls, WI local teacher died suddenly at his home Wednesday evening.

Mr Abrams was born May 23, 1903 in Chippewa Falls, the son of the late Mr Mrs John Abrams. He graduated from Chi Hi in 1921, and Stout State College and has a Master's Degree from Wayne Univ of Detroit, MI. He taught shcool two years at South Bend, Indiana and then at Port Huron, MI, the then became Junior High Principal at Port Huron. He went to Detroit, MI where he taught at Chrysler Trade School, coming to Chippewa Falls in June 1945 where he worked for L G Arnold for three years. For the past 16 years he had been teaching at the Chi Hi Sr Hi Sch and the Vocational School.

He was married to Miss Dorothy Mires of Port Huron, MI on April 1, 1933. Mr Abrams was a member of the First Methodist Church, the Pine Grove Masonic Lodge F&AM No. 11 of Port Huron, MI of which he was past Master and a past president of the Chippewa Falls Teacher's Assoc.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy: A daughter, Carolyn: and two sons, John and Larry, all at home. Two sisters: Mrs. Gail (Verna) Bates, Chippewa Fall: and Mrs Jerry Ford, North Mankota, MN.

The remains will be taken to the First Methodist Church to lie in state until funeral time. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
