Mrs. Borkenhagen Is Called To Rest In Town Herman
Adell, Wis. – Mrs. Amelia Borkenhagen, 82, passed away Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Spieker, in town Sherman, following a stroke.
Deceased was born December 27, 1859, the daughter of Robert and Johanna Scholz. She was married to Ernst Borkenhagen on November 4, 1885, at the Lutheran church in town Sherman by the Rev. Philip Wamagans. He passed away November 6, 1923.
Survivors are five sons, Otto, Adolph, John and Richard of town Sherman and Ernst of Plymouth; two daughters, Anna of Richland Center and Mrs. Louis (Ida) Spieker of town Sherman; 17 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Miss Emma Scholz; three brothers, The Rev. Otto Scholz, Gottlieb of Tonawanda, N.Y. and Gustave of town Sherman. She resided in Adell up until a few years ago when she went to live with her daughter.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Adell Lutheran church, the Rev. R. Schroth officiating, and burial will be made in the Congregational cemetery at Adell. Friends may view the body at the residence from now until the time of the services.
