John W. Borkenhagen, 84, a
Town of Sherman farmer,
died Tuesday morning at
Sheboygan Memorial Hospital
after a one-week illness.
He was born on March 17,
1889, in the Town of Sherman,
the son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Ernst Borkenhagen.
On Jan. 13, 1921 he married
the former Norma Torke at
Emmanuel Lutheran Church,
Adell.
After their marriage the
couple farmed in the Town of
Sherman. Mr. Borkenhagen
also was employed at the
Western Condensory at Adell
for 37 years.
He was a member of Emmanuel
Lutheran Church and a
charter member of the Adell
Co-Op Association.
Survivors are his widow; a
son, Elwood of Batavia; a sister,
Mrs. Louis Spieker of
Adell, 13 grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren.
Two sons, four brothers, a
sister and a granddaughter
preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at
1:30 p.m. Friday at Immanuel
Lutheran Church. The
Rev. Herbert Ries, pastor,
will officiate. Burial will be
in the church cemetery.
