Kenneth H. Arndt, 85, Suring, WI, formerly Denmark, died Wednesday morning, September 24, 2008 at a local nursing home. He was born on October 1, 1922 in Green Bay to the late Herman and Sara (Welsing) Arndt. On May 27, 1944 he married the former Kathleen Leurquin in Fontenoy, WI. She preceded him in death on May 6, 1992. Ken farmed many years in the Denmark area. Later he moved to Sturgeon Bay where he was a truck driver and then returned to Green Bay to continue his trucking profession. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ken also enjoyed hunting, fishing and time at his cottage up north where he lived the last few years of his life. He is survived by two daughters, Fay (Jim) Okrasinski and Kay (Joe) Piontek, all of Green Bay; one daughter-in-law, Donna Arndt, Green Bay; seven grandchildren: Craig (Megan) Bohn, Green Bay, Dana (Steve) Roberts, Luxemburg, Paula (Ken) Kaminski, Green Bay, Jesse Arndt, De Pere, Brandon (fiancée Jen) Arndt, De Pere, Rory (Cassie) Arndt, Suamico and Hayley Arndt, Green Bay; seven great-grandchildren: Brady Bohn, Kayla and Sienna Davis, Obrien and Owen Arndt, Amelia and Sawyer Arndt; one sister, Lovine Brisbane; sisters-in-law, Yvonne (Bob) Coppens and Rita Leurquin; brother-in-law, Fabian "Bud" Horkman; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Mark Arndt; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Clara (Tony Schoen) (Arnold) Schmidt, Doris (Jim) Leurquin, Beverly Horkman, Norman Leurquin and John Leurquin. Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., Friday from 3 pm until time of service. Funeral service on Friday at 7 pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Schleis officiating. Burial in East Side Danish Cemetery in Fontenoy, WI. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established. Ken´s family wishes to thank Bornemann Nursing Home and Unity Hospice for the loving care given to Ken.
