Marjorie L. Friese of Diamond Bluff died Saturday, Jan. 3, 1998, at her home. She was 64.
She was born Aug. 18, 1933, in Berne, Minn., the daughter of Rex and Laura (Bartholomew) Cowden. She attended school in Hastings, Minn.
She married Glen Friese May 20, 1950, in Zumbrota, Minn. They lived in Hastings, where she worked for Smeads. In 1973, they moved to Diamond Bluff, where she worked at Kask's Tavern.
She enjoyed her grandchildren, music, reading, crossword puzzles and baking.
Survivors include: her husband, Glen of Diamond Bluff; seven children, Glen (Kristine) Friese, Jr. of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., Jaci (Cory) Nyman of Eagan, Minn., Thomas (Linda) Friese of Hastings, Kathleen (Robert) Cooklock of Hager City, Jeffrey (Michele) Friese of Diamond Bluff, Mark Friese of Diamond Bluff and Christina (Wade) Priest of Ellsworth; 12 grandchildren, Glen Friese III, Jarid Friese, Breanna Friese, Thomas Friese Jr., Nicholas Friese, Daniel Friese, Jennifer Cooklock, Bryan Cooklock, Alyssa Friese, Aaron Friese, Joshua Priest and Matthew Priest; two brothers, Leslie (Gladys) LaFavor of St. Paul, Alan (Darlene) Cowden, Hastings; two sisters, Doris Schmidt of Hastings and Charlotte Nelson of Fergus Falls, Minn.
Preceding her in death were her parents and one sister, Audrey King.
Memorial service was to be on Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Red Wing, with Rev. Loren Lucht officiating. Interment was to be in Diamond Bluff Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the church or the American Diabetes Association.
