RED WING -- The funeral for Irene Beatrice Dosdall will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Mahn Family Funeral Home's Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, with the Rev. Shelly Lyksett officiating. Spring burial will be in Diamond Bluff Cemetery.
Mrs. Dosdall, 86, of Diamond Bluff died Friday (Feb. 23, 2007) at Fairview Seminary Home in Red Wing.
She was born Irene Langsdorf on April 5, 1920, in Swift County, Minn. At a young age, her family moved to Red Wing, and she graduated from Red Wing Central High School. For a number of years, she worked for an insurance company in the Twin Cities and at Red Wing Pottery.
On July 12, 1945, she married Albert Dosdall in Red Wing. They farmed for many years in the Diamond Bluff area. He preceded her in death.
She continued to live on the farm until becoming a resident of Fairview Seminary Home in 2003. She was a member of Diamond Bluff United Methodist Church, where she was active in the women's society and taught Sunday school and Bible school. She enjoyed gardening, walking and needle work.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon (Douglas) Hirdler of Ely; a son, Roger (Bonny) Dosdall of Diamond Bluff; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gladys Applequist of Waconia.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie; three brothers, Leonard, Kenneth and Willard; a granddaughter; and a great granddaughter.
Friends may call for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home Wednesday.
Memorials are preferred to Diamond Bluff United Methodist Church.
