Milan, age 73, of Lone Rock, died at Meriter Park Hospital, in Madison. He was born the son of Henry Clarence & Lila Barbara (Repka) Adams. He graduated from Lone Rock High School and joined the U.S. Air Force shortly thereafter. He served during the Korean War as an aerial photographer. His ability to maneuver his B-36 through the terrain and shoot photos earned him the nickname "Snake."
He met Marylin Lyons while in the service and they were married in Coeur d'Alene, ID on Nov. 13, 1954. She preceded him in death on Jan. 11, 2001. Snake hauled milk, worked for Lone Rock Thermogas, Tru Gas, repaired appliances for Sears and worked for Lone Rock Milling and for Badger Ordnance. He had been retired eight years from the Richland County Sheriff's Department following nearly 30 years of service.
He also volunteered with the Lone Rock Fire Department. He truly loved spending time on the Wisconsin River, fishing, boating and eagle watching. He enjoyed gardening, trapping and hunting as well. Snake always made a point of gathering his family for any holiday or special occasion.
Survivors include his three daughters, five grandchildren, two brothers, two sisters and sisters, nieces, nephews, two sisters-in-law, and his aunt.
In addition to his wife, Snake was preceded in death by his parents; sisters-in-law, Ann Adams and Olive Clark; and brothers-in-law, Lloyd Clark, Eldon Baker, Bud Nelson, Tiny Lyons and Donald Lyons.
Funeral services were held at the Lone Rock Congregational Church, with Pastor Craig Peach officiating.
Burial was in the Button Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by the Lone Rock American Legion Post No. 383.
