Emma Elizabeth (Mrs. Marshal) Brody, 68, town of Richfield, died at 2"35 pm Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital Hospice Care.
Services will be at 11 am Tuesday at Hanaan Funeral Home with Elder Wendell Springer of Seventh-day Adventist Church officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Terry Wanta will sing accompanied by guitar, and Carol Smelling will be organist. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, town of Richfield.
She was born July 21, 1901 in the town of Arpin, to John and Greta (Ogle Bushlen) Doering. She attended Bethel Academy, Bethel and Immanuel Missionary College, now known as Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Mich.
She was married to Marshal Brody March 26, 1925, at her parent's home in the town of Arpin.
She was raised in the town of Arpin. After her education, she taught school in Oakland for one year. She then taught school in Arpin for two years before her marriage. After her marriage, she and her husband farmed in the town of Arpin for two years and then moved to the town of Richfield, where they farmed from 1928-1975.
She was a 4-H leader in the town of Richfleld for more than 30 years and a member of Richfleld Homemakers Club and the Hobby Club, of which she was a senior member. She served as clerk for Far View School for several years.
She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Gordon (Chloe) Schiller of Marshfield; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
