WILLIAM R. BENEDICT
William R. Benedict, 69, of Oshkosh, died Sunday afternoon in Mercy Medical Center.
He was born July 25, 1910, in Butte des Morts, and was married to Irene Zaumeyer, July 12, 1947, in Oshkosh.
A World War II veteran, Mr. Benedict served in the East Indies, New Guinea, and Luzon. He was employed as a truck driver for Courtney & Plummer Inc., Neenah, for 30 years, then as a security guard for Pinkerton's Inc. until his retirement in 1975.
Surviving are his widow; two stepsons, Thomas Zaumeyer, Orange, Calif., and Rodger Zaumeyer, Nassau, Bahamas; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Carol Reinke, Butte des Morts, Mrs. Jack (Becky) Botton, Suffern, NY, Mrs. David (Mary) Wilson, Milton, and Mrs. Thomas (Jackie) Gallas, Pewaukee; two brothers, Jesse Benedict, Oshkosh, and Ronald Heagle, Butte des Morts; 20 step-grandchildren and five step-greatgrandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Mueller Funeral Home, Winneconne, the Rev. Richard Krell officiating. Burial will be in Bell Cemetery, town of Winneconne.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday, and Wednesday until the time of services.
