THE DEATH OF RACHEL CANN
Mrs Rachel Cann, widow of John W Cann, died at 7 o'clock this morning at her home, 1105 Main Street, from heat failure. She had been in a feeble condition for several months and for some time was a patient in St Elizabeth hospital. She left the hospital two weeks ago. She was born in Wea township, this county sixty-seven years ago and all her life was spent in this county. She was the daughter of Allen DeHart and was well known throughout the county. Her husband died ten years ago and she had lived in Lafayette six yeas. Mrs. Cann was a member of the First Christian church and was a woman of noble character. She was greatly devoted to her home and family and died rich in the respect of all who knew her. She is survived by three children - Curtis Cann, of the Wea; Morton C. Cann, of this city, and Mrs James Davis, of Thorntown. She also leaves one granddaughter, Mrs. Carl Hedge, of Thorntown. The funeral will be held at 10 o'clock Monday morning from the Christian church. Rev. George Watson will officiate and interment will be in the Wildcat cemetery.
