HE DEATH OF CATHERINE BRUBAKER
Mrs Catherine Brubaker died last evening at 8:10 o'clock at the home of her son, David Brubaker, five miles southeast of the city. Her death was the result of an injury received some time ago. On December 28, while attending the sale of Samuel Hudlow, Mrs Brubaker was accidentally knocked down and her right hip was dislocated
and fractured. She did not recover from the shock. Mrs Brubaker was born in Lancaster county, Pennsylvania, and was 77 years old. She had lived in this county for forty years and was the widow of Simon Brubaker, who conducted a general store on the Wea for years. She leaves one son, David Brubaker, and one daughter, Mrs J. W. Ashby.
Mrs Brubaker was a member of the German Lutheran church and was a very estimable woman. She had a wide acquaintance and took an active interest in all the affairs of the community. She had many fine qualities and was held in high esteem by all who knew her. The funeral will be conducted from the Wildcat church Thursday morning at 10:30 o'clock. Rev. George H. Trinkle, of Mulberry, will officiate and the interment will be made in the Wildcat cemetery.(Lafayette Newspaper, Tuesday, February 28, 1911)
