David C. Angell, M.D., born Nov. 3, 1928, died May 21, 2013.
It began 84 years ago in a small town in central Vermont. The son of a son of a doctor, he too became a doctor. Instead of a small town country doctor, he chose to become a pathologist and worked for Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire for 25 years. He also provided his services to a number of smaller hospitals in northern Wisconsin.
He was a graduate of Dartmouth College, McGill University Medical School and the University of Michigan Medical School. He spent two years in the United States Air Force.
He married the woman he loved and raised a family. Joan and David were married for nearly 60 years.
His life continues on in his wife, Joan L. Angell; his children, Robert (Karen Sakamoto), Susan Schmidt (Andrew Schmidt), and Tom (Christ Dill); his grandchildren, Jamal Angell, Maia Angell, and Alex Schmidt; his brother, Tom Angell; and sister, Nancy DuBois; his nieces and nephews; and the numerous people he encountered, friends and strangers alike.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 20th at the First Congregational UCC Church in Eau Claire. Remembrances will begin at 10 a.m. and continue following the service.
