Mrs. Balting worked in the office of Culpeper Wood Preservers, Shelbyville, for five years.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Shelbyville.
Survivors include her mother, Waldron; two daughters, Heather Gonzales and Kelly Kikendall, both of Shelbyville; three sisters, Diana Gilles, Waldron; Robin McIntire, Morristown; and Stacey Cowan, Arlington; one brother, Daniel Compton, Shelbyville; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with the Rev. John Fink officiating.
Burial was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Shelbyville.
Friends visited from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions were made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
